Two topics today:

1) what to do if you get Covid, and

2) what to have in your Covid Kit

Given that everybody is traveling and coming back from camp and every day there’s less masking and Omicron’s BA.5 variant is the most contagious one yet, I think it’s safe to assume you or somebody in your friends and family group has Covid, is going to get Covid, and or is about to get Covid very soon.

It’s like we’re all a bulls-eye for infection and since Omicron is so good at outwitting our immune system, infections are happening regardless of vaccination status.

  • Having a recent booster does seem to help keep us from getting it but just for a short time — their real power is that they help keep us from getting it badly enough to get us hospitalized or god forbid die.
  • Same thing for recent infection — it offers some protection from getting it again, but it’s not 100% protective and that protection can wane over time.

So if you do end up in the bulls-eye and turn Covid positive, what should you do?

Call your doctor.
